AHD Security Camera System

These systems feature a new technology that allows you to upgrade existing analog CCTV video surveillance systems using traditional coaxial cable. AHD cameras offer 720p and 1080p resolution HD video transmission over coax.

Unlike HD-SDI and network IP, AHD can be run over long distances without any loss of picture quality. In fact installers can reliably use RG59 coax cable up to 800 feet without video baluns.

AHD (Analog High Definition) Cameras

AHD cameras are a popular and effective option to achieve high-definition video footage and recording with traditional coaxial cables. This allows you to easily upgrade existing analog CCTV systems to 720p or 1080p resolution with minimal cost and time.

AHD is an open standard, so it has wide vendor support from companies like Hanwha Vision, Dahua and others. While it offers higher maximum resolution than 960H analog cameras, AHD has a lower max resolution than HD-SDI and HD-TVI technology which are more widely adopted by major security equipment manufacturers.

Unlike 960H analog cameras that require separate wires for audio and power, AHD cameras can transmit all of their data over a single coaxial cable making the installation process much easier. This also reduces the costs by eliminating the need for a separate wiring run for the audio signal. Some AHD cameras offer built-in microphone with Audio-Over-Coax (AOC) feature allowing you to transfer the camera audio directly over the video cable. This functionality requires a compatible DVR, such as our RK SERIES DVRs.

AHD camera models with night-vision capabilities offer a good solution to assist drivers at nighttime in poor visibility conditions such as fog and rain. They are equipped with infrared LEDs that will activate in the low and no light conditions ensuring the driver’s visibility is not impaired.

AHD Technology

AHD is a new technology that was developed by NextChip, a Korean manufacturer. It is based on the same method as traditional analog CCTV, but solar powered security camera it offers a higher video resolution and a greater transmission distance. AHD is a good choice for upgrading an existing security system because it works on the same coaxial cables as the old analog systems. This means that you can keep the infrastructure in place and upgrade to high-resolution cameras without having to rip out all of the cables.

Another advantage of AHD is that it provides better nighttime infrared performance than TVI and HD-CVI. The AHD camera is equipped with 36pcs IR LEDs and an IR-Cut filter that ensures excellent daytime and nighttime viewing. The AHD cameras also feature an advanced video compression algorithm that uses H.265 encoding, which reduces file sizes by more than 50% with the same quality.

This feature allows you to save hard drive space and reduce your storage costs. It also reduces the risk of data loss if your cameras are ever lost or stolen, because the files are encrypted and can only be viewed by authorized users. In addition, unlike wireless cameras, there is no way to hack into an AHD camera. This means that intruders would have to physically break into a building or residence to intercept the signal.

AHD Resolution

AHD technology is a great solution for upgrading existing CCTV systems. It offers 720p or 1080p resolution over traditional coax cables, providing better picture clarity than standard analog CCTV. Additionally, AHD cameras can transmit audio and control (OSD & PTZ) over the same cable which saves money by not having to run separate wires for these functions.

While deciding which type of camera to purchase, the most important factor is how much image detail you need. For a basic home security system, an AHD camera with a 1.0 megapixel resolution ahd security camera system should be sufficient. However, if you need more detail to monitor large areas or want to use the cameras for outdoor surveillance, a higher resolution option might be necessary.

Another advantage of AHD is its ability to transfer HD video over a longer distance than HD-SDI or network IP cameras. This is due to the fact that AHD is uncompressed which enables it to travel over long distances without losing quality or latency.

Lastly, AHD is compatible with traditional analog CCTV cameras and uses the same wiring regulations as old analog equipment so it is easy to upgrade your system to HD. The Eclipse AHD range is the perfect choice for anyone looking to upgrade their existing analog CCTV system and enjoy the benefits of HD digital technology.

AHD Video Recorders

The AHD cameras are connected to a digital video recorder (DVR), which is responsible for digitizing analog signals and recording the footage on hard disk. The DVR can be connected to a traditional monitor or an IP system that can be accessed remotely via internet.

AHD technology allows you to upgrade existing security systems gradually or instantly to high definition 720p and 1080p without replacing the entire infrastructure. This means that you can keep the existing monitors, and replace the analog cameras with new AHD cameras. This will save you both time and money.

Another advantage of AHD is that it can be transmitted over the same coaxial cable used for analog CCTV. This means that you can use the existing CCTV cable with the help of video baluns to transmit the signal to a new AHD camera. You can even buy a hybrid DVR that will support both AHD and analog CCTV cameras, making it easier for you to migrate to a higher resolution.

The AHD cameras also have better image quality than traditional analog CCTV cameras. The images are more detailed, and the colours are better represented. The cameras also have IR night vision, which allows them to see in low light conditions. This is particularly useful for areas that are poorly lit, such as parking lots or warehouses.
