Erosion Geomat

Erosion Geomat

A three dimensional, synthetic cuspated erosion control geomat. It is ideal for situations where vegetation requires permanent assistance protecting the ground from weather and water erosion. Its densely fused strands imitate the role of a root matrix by binding and trapping soil particles and fertile humus to reinforce the soil.

Biodegradable

Unlike traditional erosion control methods, Erosion geomat uses biodegradable materials. They help maintain soil stability and support plant life in erosion-prone areas. In addition, they are easy to install and cost-effective. They are also environmentally friendly and can be repurposed for other projects.

The material is shaped into a three-dimensional erosion control Erosion geomat mat and used in construction sites to prevent landslide and slope erosion. It can be easily installed and has a waterproof surface that protects the soil from raindrops, rills, and rivers. This type of erosion control mat is especially useful in mountainous regions.

It has an open weave and is a natural fibre netting that holds the soil particles together without dislodging them. This allows the seed, sprigged vegetation, and grass roots to develop quickly and ensures that the slope remains protected against erosion. The jute netting is also water-absorbing and retains the maximum amount of moisture for healthy growth.

Biodegradable weed mats are an eco-friendly and safe alternative to traditional plastic mats. They can be easily cut to size with a knife, making them an ideal replacement for jute and coir matting. They are made from a soft geotextile needle punched with wool, which aerates the soil and retains water. It also releases nutrients slowly to support the growth of plants. The wool in the weed mats also helps bind soil particles and promote root growth.

Lightweight

A geosynthetic erosion mat is an ideal solution for preventing soil erosion, reducing sedimentation and water runoff, and helping to stabilize slopes in an environmentally-friendly manner. It also promotes vegetation growth, allowing roots to entwine within the mat structure and further reinforce the soil. Moreover, the mat reduces maintenance costs and contributes to a natural landscape.

Erosion on reservoir margins is a serious problem that affects the efficiency of Hydroelectric Power Plants (HPPs). The loss of valuable topsoil, degradation of the land, and landslides can have significant economic impacts. To address these problems, engineers use a variety of erosion control techniques in reservoirs and watercourses. These techniques include geomats and sack gabion, among others. However, the performance of these methods is often limited by the quality of the installation and the lack of contact between the geomat and the underlying soil surface.

TECHMAT P500SL is a flexible, lightweight three-dimensional erosion control matting. It consists of a multi-layer matrix of extruded monofilaments that are tangled and welded where they intersect. The void ratio of the matting is 90%, which allows soil or sand to be placed inside it. Its structure is non-biodegradable and promotes permanent vegetative root reinforcement. The void space also facilitates rapid grass establishment and provides protection against erosion by wind. It is an ideal solution for a wide range of applications and environments, including wet or dry slopes.

Easy to install

When installed properly, Erosion geomat provides a permanent and long-term solution to soil erosion. It stabilizes the soil, reduces sedimentation, and promotes vegetation growth. This helps protect nearby infrastructure and prevents landslides, saving money on costly repairs. It also contributes to biodiversity and enhances the aesthetics of the landscape.

The three-dimensional geonet is made from polymer synthetic filaments that are heat-tangled together. The result is a loose and flexible mat that has voids of over 90%, allowing the roots of the plants to grow evenly throughout it. The geomat also supports shear forces, minimizing erosion and helping the soil remain intact during rains.

Geomats are easy to install and can be used in a variety of applications, including river and lake banks, slopes, and dikes. They can even be used to stabilize surfaces in flooded areas. They are a cost-effective alternative to concrete, rockface, and shotcrete constructions, which require a great deal of labor and time to build.

Reinforced 3D geomat has additional hexagonal wire mesh and geogrid thermally bonded to the core to ensure filtration, separation, and protection of the fill. The hexagonal wire mesh and the geogrid increase the tensile strength of the mat, so it is more resistant to damage from heavy rains and water flows. They also help to improve the shear strength of the slope, reduce pore water pressure and self-gravity, and decrease the permeability of the soil.

Long-lasting

Geomat is a unique and durable solution to soil erosion and slope stability. Its innovative design and advanced materials ensure durability and effectiveness in harsh environmental conditions. Its ability to promote vegetation growth makes it an ideal choice for maintaining stability in a variety of landscapes.

3D geomat is a non-degradable material that provides Erosion geomat temporary passive protection against erosion before the vegetation grows (short term). Its three-dimensional structure protects bare soil from raindrops, wind and runoff erosion, preventing it from being washed away while allowing grass to grow luxuriantly. Once the grass has grown, its roots interlock with the matrix of the 3D geomat and strengthen it. This process reduces pore water pressure, increases shear strength and self-gravity of the soil, and improves slope stability.

3D Geomat is made of multi-layer plastic geogrid and polypropylene monofilaments which are heat-welded together to form a tridimensional net-like structure with a void index of 90% or higher. It has a soft flexible surface and strip hardness, the soil or sand can be filled in freely to the depth of 30-40 cm, plant roots can interlock with the 3D geomat and make the slope firmly connected. This will prevent soil erosion and increase the strength of the soil. It will also enhance the stability of the slope and reduce the amount of sediment.
