CCTV AHD Camera

CCTV AHD Camera

Many of these cctv ahd camera have Audio-Over-Coax (AOC) which allows you to transfer audio over the same video cable avoiding running another pair of wires. However this feature requires a DVR that supports it, like our RK series DVR.

Most distributors advertise their equipment supports all 3 high-resolution analogue technologies – HD-TVI, HD-CVI and AHD. They often also call it 4in1 cctv ahd.

AHD Technology

AHD is an analog high definition technology used in CCTV surveillance systems. It’s a low-cost solution that allows you to upgrade your existing analog CCTV system without the need for new cables and cabling. Developed by the Korean company Nextchip, AHD cameras can deliver HD video signals over traditional coaxial cable, up to 500 meters. cctv ahd camera The AHD camera must be connected to a digital video recorder (DVR) that will digitize the signal and store it on the hard disk. This DVR will also perform digital functions that are not available in the camera such as remote control via Internet and intrusion detection with motion alarm.

AHD cameras are much less expensive than IP cameras and can transmit video over longer distances without the need for relay devices on ethernet cable. In addition, AHD cameras don’t require bandwidth considerations and don’t suffer from latency or IP conflict issues.

AHD cameras are ideal for driver monitoring in fleet management applications, such as buses and trucks. They can provide footage of the driver and their surroundings, helping to curb inattentive driving and drowsiness. Some AHD cameras are equipped with GPS, allowing you to track the location of your vehicle at any given time. They also come with a range of advanced features, such as WIDE DYNAMIC RANGE and ANTIFOG, to improve image quality in bright and dark conditions.

AHD Resolution

AHD (Analog High Definition) is a new HD video surveillance technology for CCTV cameras. AHD cameras use traditional coax cable to transmit HD video from CCTV security cameras to DVRs for recording & playback. AHD cameras can provide up to 720p or 8MP of resolution. Unlike IP cameras that can only send video AHD cameras can transmit audio and control requiring less cabling infrastructure saving both time & money during installation. AHD works on conventional CCTV cables including copper clad aluminum and Ethernet cable with video baluns allowing installers to utilize existing cable infrastructure in many cases.

AHD technology was developed by Korean chip-set manufacturer Nextchip. AHD uses the same technology as 960H and is back-compatible with existing analog CCTV equipment. The technology also supports CMOS image sensors like those used in traditional CCTV cameras but offers higher resolutions than CVBS.

The main difference between CVI, TVI, and AHD is how the technologies encode their videos. CVBS uses a simple frame grabber to encode the video into a data stream, while 960H and TVI are both digital and require DVRs for encoding. AHD seems to be the only one that can offer 720p HD on standard coax cables. This offers a significant upgrade over traditional CCTV systems that are limited to 480p. This means that EchoMaster AHD cameras can provide much better low light performance than their CVBS counterparts while retaining the ability to record at full HD resolution.

AHD Lens

The camera lens used in cctv ahd camera determines the angle of view that the camera provides. The image sensor size also impacts the angle of view that security cameras provide. The table below outlines the lens sizes that are available for different HD CCTV cameras and their angle of view.

The 960H AHD camera on this cctv ahd camera page utilizes a 3.6mm IR telephoto lens that is commonly found in most HD-TVI and HD-CVI security cameras. This telephoto lens allows you to zoom in on an object without losing quality. This type of lens is often used on outdoor cameras that need to focus in low light conditions or on doors that need to be opened and closed frequently.

This 1080p AHD camera is great for upgrading existing analog surveillance systems on coax cables. It is capable of capturing high-resolution video footage up to 1080p resolution and sending it over long distances without compression. This means that you can get better video quality than standard analog CCTV cameras and DVRs.

This 720p AHD vehicle camera comes with a fish-eye lens that covers an ultra wide angle of view. It is perfect for a variety of commercial vehicles and can be used indoors or outdoors for surveillance purposes. It is also weatherproof and can withstand harsh conditions like rain and snow. The camera also features 36pcs IR LEDs and 3.6mm IR CUT to improve night vision performance. It works with all brands of TVI, AHD, CVI and CVBS DVRs. It also has a user friendly OSD menu that can change the signal mode in seconds.

AHD ICR

AHD ICR uses advanced Y/C signal separation and simulation filtering technology to provide high-quality video. It also has superior light sensitivity and excellent color reproduction to give you clear images in low-light conditions. It is widely used in car camera systems to monitor driver behavior, rearview mirror monitoring, and parking assistance.

Unlike network IP cameras, AHD CCTV does not require special cable and infrastructure to operate. It utilizes existing coaxial cables to transmit 720p and 1080p HD digital video from cameras to DVR recorders. Camius TRiVault security cameras support AHD, HD TVI, and HD CVI connections allowing you to upgrade your system without changing the entire cabling infrastructure or spending a lot of money on new equipment.

AHD cameras connect to DVRs using BNC (Bayonet Neill-Concelman) cable which provides power to the camera and transfers feed for recording and alarm management. AHD cameras can be connected to a DVR with either RG59 or RG6 coaxial cable and can work with standard IR LEDs and IR illuminators for night vision application.

AHD cameras are able to transfer uncompressed 720p or 1080p HD video over long distances without any loss of image quality, unlike other analog video transmission formats like HD-SDI or standard analogue CCTV. AHD allows for audio and control (OSD & PTZ) to be transmitted over the same coaxial cable as the video, reducing the cost of installation by eliminating the need for separate cables.
